Training Unlimited respects our students' right to privacy. Any personal information provided to us will be held in confidence. This policy outlines how Training Unlimited handles personal and health information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2000 . The Policy applies to all personal and health information provided to Training Unlimited and information about individuals obtained from other sources.
Collection of InformationWe will only collect what information is necessary for us to provide an efficient and satisfactory service. This information will be used for statistical analysis required by the Office of Training and Tertiary Education. Consent to use information for any other purpose will be sought. We will advise students if we collect information from other sources.Use of InformationThe information students provide will primarily only be used for administration of our training. We are obliged to pass on information to Government agencies when legally requested but in general this is used only as a measure of Training Unlimited's compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.Data QualityWe take steps to ensure information held by Training Unlimited about students is accurate and up to date. We encourage students to notify us of any inaccurate information so that it can be corrected.Access to DataStudents may review personal data held by us at anytime by contacting the Managing Director. Security of DataWe make every effort to see that personal data remains secure. Information or data is restricted to those who need to know and distribution of information is kept to a minimum.Unique IdentifiersTraining Unlimited uses unique identifiers in its Student Administration. These systems are designed to provide security of student information.Transborder Data FlowGenerally we will not transfer personal information outside of Victoria without your consent.Sensitive InformationWe will not collect any sensitive information about students except where directed for a specific purpose. Sensitive information is information relating to: ethnic background, religion, political views, sexual preference and criminal records.AnonymityTraining Unlimited respects everyone's right to anonymity except in circumstances where it is necessary for you to provide us with your identity.OpennessWe are completely open with what we do with personal information and this is communicated by way of this Information Privacy Policy. Equal opportunity policy Training Programs Training Unlimited has a policy of promoting fair and equitable access to its training programs. Training Unlimited is committed to the principle of equality of opportunity. In practice this means: Training Unlimited will grant entry to anyone who: · has applied for and received a place and meets the entry criteria for a particular program, · and is complying with all other relevant regulation or legislation including but not limited to occupational health and safety requirements and visa conditions, Fees and charges policy Training Unlimited levies fees and charges in line with Skills Victoria fees and charges guidelines. Fees and charges are applied in a manner that upholds the principles of access and equity. Students and stakeholders are given timely advice regarding the fees and charges and conditions relating to their payment and refund. Training Unlimited will refund fees paid in advance without penalty should a course be cancelled or if a student does not commence. Students who discontinue training within four weeks of enrolment will be entitled to a refund, less the cost any materials provided. Students discontinuing more than four weeks after enrolment will not be eligible for a refund. Complaints and appeals policy Training Unlimited has a fair and equitable process for dealing with learner complaints and appeals. Training Unlimited is committed to addressing complaints and appeals efficiently and effectively: Prospective learners will have access to our Complaints and Appeals Policy through our website and it will be displayed in the foyer of our offices. All disputes or complaints will be handled professionally and confidentially in order to achieve a satisfactory resolution. Appeals and complaints will be responded to in a timely manner with Training Unlimited agreeing to attempt to resolve complaints within realistic and fair timelines. All parties will have a clear understanding of the steps involved in the Complaints and Appeal Procedure. Students may raise any complaints relating to, for example, training delivery and assessment, the quality of the teaching, student amenities, discrimination and sexual harassment. Appeals can relate to assessment decisions but they can also relate to other decisions, such as a decision to exclude a learner from a program. Training Unlimited will attempt to resolve all complaints through discussion and conciliation. All parties will have an opportunity to present their case. Where a complaint cannot be resolved through discussion and conciliation, clients will have access to an independent arbiter. Learners will be provided with details of external authorities they may approach, if required. Mutual recognition policyTraining Unlimited recognises and accepts the credentials issued by another Registered Training Organisation based in any State or Territory of Australia. This can include a Statement of Attainment for specific modules or units of competency, or it may be a complete qualification such as a certificate or diploma. As part of this recognition process, Training Unlimited will verify the organisation's registration status on the National Training Information Service (NTIS) database.
Occupational Health and Safety policy Training Unlimited recognises its moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for staff, contactors, students and visitors. This commitment extends to ensuring that the organisation's operations do not place the local community at risk of injury, illness or property damage. Training Unlimited will: - provide a safe workplace and systems of work - provide written procedures and instructions to ensure safe systems of work - ensure compliance with legislative requirements and current industry standards - provide information, instruction, training and supervision to staff, students and visitors to ensure their safety Training Unlimited management representatives are accountable for implementing this policy in their area of responsibility. Management is responsible for: - the provision and maintenance of the workplace in a safe condition - involvement in the development, promotion and implementation of health and safety polices and procedures - training staff in the safe performance of their assigned tasks - the provision of resources to meet the health and safety commitment All staff are to: - follow all health and safety policies and procedures - report all known or observed hazards to their immediate supervisor or manager Training Unlimited is committed to consultation and cooperation between management and employees. The organisation will consult with elected employee health and safety representatives and staff in any workplace change that will affect the health and safety of any of its employees. This policy is applicable to Training Unlimited in all its operations and functions including those situations where staff are required to work off site. Anti bullying and harassment policy Training Unlimited is committed to providing a work environment that is safe, fair and free from discrimination for all staff and students. Training Unlimited has a responsibility under State and Federal legislation to ensure that no staff and student is subjected to behaviour that may constitute unlawful discrimination, harassment, denigration or maltreatment. Training Unlimited considers workplace bullying and harassment unacceptable and will not tolerate it under any circumstances. Workplace bullying is the repeated less favourable treatment of a person by another or others in the workplace, who use strength or power to coerce. It includes behaviour that intimidates, offends, debases or humiliates a staff member, possibly in front of fellow staff members or students. Managers at Training Unlimited are required to ensure staff and students are not bullied in the workplace by ensuring that preventative measures and proper grievance and investigation procedures are followed to deal with workplace bullying. Any reports of workplace bullying will be treated seriously and investigated promptly, confidentially and impartially. Training Unlimited encourages all staff and students to report workplace bullying. Managers must ensure all staff or employees who make complaints, or witnesses, are not victimised. Bullying or harassment is deemed an Occupational Health and Safety issue and disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who bullies another student or employee. Disciplinary action may involve a warning, counselling or dismissal, depending on the circumstances. If you feel you are being bullied, contact your trainer, Student Manager or the Managing Director. Refund policy Training Unlimited will refund fees paid in advance without penalty should a course be cancelled or if a student does not commence. Students who discontinue training within four weeks of enrolment will be entitled to a refund, less a $100.00 amenities fee to cover the cost of any materials and administration work provided. Students discontinuing more than four weeks after enrolment will not be eligible for a refund. Quality assurance and improvement policy The management of Training Unlimited has adopted a Quality Assurance and Improvement Policy that commits the organisation and its staff to Quality Performance. Training Unlimited is committed to providing the highest quality service to our clients and students. Client services are continually improved by collecting, analysing and acting on relevant data. Training Unlimited consults with clients and students to identify specific needs and new ways of satisfying these needs. Quality assurance processes and mechanisms, including the requirements of Australian Quality Training Framework auditing and industry service standards are used to monitor and improve the quality of the services and programs. The organisational policies, procedures and working instructions, are designed in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework. These describe how the company ensures that customer requirements are recognised and that consistent control of these requirements is established, implemented and maintained. The foregoing principles are basic to this company for the quality assurance of our services and products and all staff must actively support the attainment of these goals through the implementation of this policy and other policies. Administration policy Training Unlimited is aware that as a provider of recognised, accredited, national qualifications and statements of attainment it has responsibility for administration of all training records. Training Unlimited will maintain confidentiality of all clients' records and will convey the information contained in those records only at the explicit request of the client. The only exception to this requirement is where Training Unlimited is directed by Skills Victoria to provide it with student records as part of its auditing and reporting processes. Training Unlimited will maintain systems for recording student enrolments, attendance, completion, assessment outcomes (including Recognition of Prior Learning), results, qualifications issued, grievances and the archiving of records. Training Unlimited is aware of the importance of these records and will ensure that adequate back up procedures for soft copy versions of files are carried out. In the event that Training Unlimited ceases to operate, it will forward all records of student results dating from the time the organisation became a RTO, for all training covered by the registration, to Skills Victoria on computer disk or such other medium as shall be current for long term data storage. Training Unlimited will supply Skills Victoria, as requested, with delivery details for each course or Training Package qualification and session/unit of competence in the Scope of Registration and student details including enrolments, participation and completion in accordance with Skills Victoria-AVETMISS requirements. RTO legal requirements policy Training Unlimited is responsible as a Registered Training Organisation under the Victorian Qualifications Authority to comply with all relevant Federal, State and Territory legislation and regulatory requirements for Victoria as state of registration. This includes but is not limited to the: · Victorian Qualifications Authority Act 2000 · Vocational Education and Training Act 2000 · Equal Opportunity Act 1995 · Information Privacy Act 2000 · Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 · Federal and State Anti-discrimination Legislation · Federal and State Fire and Safety Regulations For access to Australian Legal Information Institute databases of Commonwealth, State and Territory legislation see www.austlii.edu.au For access to Acts and Bills from all Australian jurisdictions see www.opc.gov.au/ Training package transition arrangements policy Training Unlimited is responsible as a Registered Training Organisation to implement strategies to transition to a new training package within twelve months of the release of a new training package. During the 12 month transition period Training Unlimited will take action to review the status and progress of existing students to determine which students can complete their studies during the transition. Students who cannot complete their studies within the transition period must be transitioned to the new qualification. Training Unlimited will advise students and employers about the revised qualification and the requirement to complete studies within the transition period or transition to the new qualification |
