Disability Training Courses What makes Training Unlimited different from other training companies? Expertise, Flexibility and Outcomes. Rather than just delivering an "off-the-shelf" course, we can tailor a program for your staff that is interesting, practical and relevant to your workplace.
Our Disability Work programs are designed to give you and/or your staff the knowledge and practical skills required to be an effective disability support worker.
Our training programs focus on assisted daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, hygiene, nutrition and manual handling while reinforcing duty of care and legal issues.
There is also a component dealing with important areas of care planning and documentation in line with Quality Assurance and Accreditation standards. Cert.III Disability Work CHC30302
This certificate level is generally regarded as the minimum required to operate as a personal care worker in disability Work.
Topics covered in the course may include: Orientation to disability work Occupational Health & Safety Communicating appropriately with clients/colleagues Processing and providing information Participating in the disability care environment Delivering and monitoring services to clients Providing care and support Advocating on behalf of clients Assisting with disabled peoples personal needs Operating under a case work framework
This course can be delivered as a Traineeship or on a fee-for-service basis. You also have the option to select individual modules, for your staff, to enable you to fill a skill shortage.

Cert. IV Disability Work: CHC40302 This certificate level is generally regarded as being the standard required to operate as a support worker in the disability sector. This could be in either facility based or home based care.
Topics covered in the course may include: Orientation to disability work Occupational Health & Safety Specialist communication skills Maintaining information systems Maintaining an effective disability care environment Developing and delivering services to clients Providing care and support Advocating on behalf of clients Assisting with disabled peoples personal needs Operating under a case work framework Planning and conducting group activities Maintaining effective networks Contributing to policy development Assisting people with complex needs

Dual Certificate. Cert. III HACC/ III Disability Work
Overview of the Dual Certificate Program This program combines two nationally accredited certificate courses:
Certificate III in Disability Work (CHC30302) plus Certificate III in HACC (Home & Community Care - CHC30202)
With the need for care workers skilled in Disability, HACC and Aged Care increasing at a rapid rate, Training Unlimited, in consultation with some of Victoria's largest service providers, has developed this program to meet both the industries needs and expectations and those of the carer.
The course is typically offered as a classroom based program, with workplace assessments where appropriate. However, we can develop a delivery plan to suit your needs whilst meeting assessment objectives.
Training Unlimited welcomes input from employers as we can incorporate elements specific to your organisation. Many clients have used this program to support ongoing workplace projects.
Please note: Graduates of this program may then choose to attend just five additional units to complete the Cert. IV in Disability - CHC40302 Training Unlimited has funded Traineeship places available and also caters for full fee paying students.
