One of the most common things we hear from trainees studying their Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is:
"I'm worried I'll get the answer wrong."
If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
Learning isn't about getting everything right the first time. If it were, there would be no need for training, practice or support! Every assessment you complete is part of your learning journey, not a test of whether you're already an expert, that’s why you are a trainee!
Assessments are Learning Opportunities

When your Trainer and Assessor provides feedback or asks you to revisit an answer, it isn't because you've failed. It's because we're helping you build your knowledge, strengthen your understanding and develop the skills you'll use every day as an educator.
Think of your assessment like a conversation rather than a test. Sometimes you already know the answer. Sometimes you need a little guidance. Both are completely okay.
Mistakes Help You Grow
Have you ever watched a child learning to walk? They wobble, stumble and fall many times before they confidently take off running.
As educators, we celebrate those attempts because we know that's how children learn.
So why should we expect anything different from ourselves?
Learning is exactly the same. Every question you revisit, every piece of feedback you receive and every assessment you improve is helping you become a more knowledgeable, reflective and confident educator.
